This page explains what information Ham Radio Lab collects, how it's used, and what choices you have. No legalese walls — written to actually be read.
This site collects basic analytics (page views, referrers) and your email address if you sign up for the newsletter. It does not sell your data. Third-party services like Google Analytics and Amazon may set their own cookies. You can opt out of those. If you have questions, just email me.
Ham Radio Lab collects two types of information: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you visit the site.
Note: This site does not collect your name, phone number, address, or any payment information. If you purchase gear through an affiliate link, that transaction happens entirely on the retailer's site under their privacy policy.
Information collected on this site is used only for the following purposes:
Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
This site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. Here's what's in use:
| Cookie Type | Purpose | Can Be Opted Out? |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics (Google Analytics) | Aggregated page view and traffic data | Yes — browser settings or GA opt-out |
| Affiliate tracking (Amazon, etc.) | Tracks clicks on affiliate links for commission attribution | Yes — browser settings |
| Email service | Tracks newsletter open rates and link clicks (if subscribed) | Yes — unsubscribe at any time |
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that some site features may not work correctly with cookies disabled.
This site uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies. Ham Radio Lab does not control how these services collect or use data:
When you click an affiliate link and visit a retailer's site, you are subject to that retailer's privacy policy, not this one.
If you sign up for the Ham Radio Lab newsletter or free guide, your email address is stored with a third-party email service provider and used to send you the requested content and occasional updates.
